I bought this book soon after moving to Portland so that I could investigate further the mystery of beer. It is a good read, but the layout is questionable. There is little flow and the book is broken up by recommendations and tasting notes. Perhaps the authors could have listed these in a separate chapter. I was looking for a book that discussed in depth the variances in styles of beer and production methods, and while they touched on these subjects, I found myself with my internet window open so that I could look up the style and delve deeper into the production methods. If you are new to beer then I recommend this book.
