Tea with Friends Top Quality

I was very disappointed in the lack of any substantial material which would give tips on how to plan a tea party. Especially lacking were the recipes that were referenced -- only one recipe for each event was printed. How are you supposed to plan a party when you don't have all of the recipes??

Add in the allusions to plot points never explored, and I felt that there was another book, somewhere, that might answer all of the questions raised, but never addressed...

I did enjoy reading this book and hearing the backstories behind the talented, driven women in the wine industry. The stories were quite inspirational. Undoubtedly there was a great deal more suffering than was portrayed in the stories in the book. These women are the survivors of a very tough era for women in this industry and have earned their stripes through talent and hard work.

I did find the informality of the writing style distracting. Regarding one profile in particular the subject is probably more intelligent than my initial impression. But this initial impression was probably created by the writer's style.

Putting that complaint aside, I would call this recommended reading for anyone who wants to have a well rounded view of wine and winemaking. As a homebrewer, I found this book to be very helpful in creating recipes for various styles of beer. He goes into good detail about them and provides descriptions of a few primary examples of styles.
