American Wholefoods Cuisine: Over 1300 Meatless, Wholesome Recipes from Short Order to Gourmet (Plume) Decide Now

This is a definite "go to" book in the kitchen. We fluctuate between Vegan and Vegetarian, and this book fits the bill. If you are strictly Vegan, the dairy and egg prodcts can be easily substituted. Recipes are simple, easy to prepare, and "whole". You can't go wrong with this book. To the reviewer who questioned why Amazon woud use that "one star" review as the most helpful critical review - it's because it's the only one that actually IS critical!!! The Complete Idiot's Guide to Bartending Right now

OK, I happen to be a relative, but that has nothing to do with my review of this book. Well, maybe a little, but the fact is, I'm no bartender. I don't have the know-how to mix drinks properly and I found this book REALLY easy to use. The arrangement by types of liquor make this guide truly idiot proof (no pun intended!).
It's a great bar companion especially when my more liquor adventurous guests are around and they want a drink even they don't know how to make.
Kudos to Amy for creating such a simple yet so useful guide! Get more detail about The Complete Idiot's Guide to Bartending.

Low Price Chicken Soup for the Tea Lover's Soul: Stories Steeped in Comfort (Chicken Soup for the Soul)

I purchased this book along with "365 Things Every Tea Lover Should Know." Not only did I purchase the items for myself, I also ordered a copy for my new tea drinking buddy. She was in complete shock when she received the items. I'm happy to know she loves this book as much as I do. The stories are very heart-warming, funny, inspirational and sad.

I highly recommend this book either for yourself or for someone who loves tea. You will not be disappointed. Get more detail about Chicken Soup for the Tea Lover's Soul: Stories Steeped in Comfort (Chicken Soup for the Soul).

Discount the bartender's GIN compendium

In "The Bartender's Gin Compendium" Gaz Regan has taken it upon himself to single handedly restore public sentiment towards gin. Long the favored spirit amongst the world's best bartenders, the general public seems to have a hard time getting past various unfortunate experiences they may have had with this product in their youth. After reading the casual and often lyrical manner in which Gaz recounts the history and lore of gin, it would be hard to imagine that even the most gin averse wouldn't have at least some curiosity about renewing their acquaintance with this fine spirit. Just the chapter on Old Tom gin alone is worth the admission.Get more detail about the bartender's GIN compendium.

Purchase The Joy of Juicing: Creative Cooking With Your Juicer; Completely Revised and Updated

This is my fifth juicing recipe book. I got all the books I purchased from Amazon and was not sure if I'd find what I was looking for if this one didn't work out. I was not looking for something that was just about fasting or cleansing or detoxification. Many of the books about juicing take a seriously holistic approach which is wonderful if that's what you want.

We make our own juice simply b/c buying the organic fruit and making it has turned out to be cheaper than buying organic juice. (We go through a LOT of juice). So from making all this juice, I was generating a lot of pulp. I didn't want to just toss it. It contains fiber, nutrients, and taste. I was able to use some in muffins but wanted more creative and diverse ways to use it. I think this book has that. It has seven different categories of recipes and I am looking forward to trying several of them.

The two I've tried so far are the Tropical popsicles and a Watermelon Raspberry popsicle. Who knew you could use the pulp in the popsicles too?
Mostly I am looking forward to trying the sauces and dips once the veggie garden starts to bear. Get more detail about The Joy of Juicing: Creative Cooking With Your Juicer; Completely Revised and Updated.

Shop For The Perfect Afternoon Tea Book: Over 70 Tea-Time Treats

This is a great book. I have spent a bit of time reading it, and not only is it well photographed, the recipes in it are good. I counted only 7 that had ingredients that were not readily available at my grocery in a small town in ND. That is a real plus. It is also easy and pleasant to read. I am looking forward to trying some of them on my friends. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a bit of serendipity and a brief escape from the cares of a hectic life.
